Embracing Growth After A Brain Aneurysm

Updated: Nov 5, 2023

I probably write about this too often but it's a reminder that it doesn't matter how many times I head in the wrong direction. I can always start over. After my brain aneurysm, https://www.rupturedbrainaneurysm.com/post/what-is-a-brain-aneurysm I never thought I would be able to find joy again. It was a challenging and scary experience, and I wasn't sure if I would ever fully recover. But I realized that embracing this challenge and seeking growth opportunities was the key to finding joy and happiness once again.

At first, I was afraid to even try new things. The thought of facing another obstacle was daunting. But with the support of my loved ones, I decided to adopt a growth mindset and view this experience as an opportunity to learn and grow.

I started small, taking on new challenges each day. Some days were harder than others, but I kept pushing myself to step out of my comfort zone. I took up meditation to help with my mindfulness and positive self-talk. I also joined a support group, where I found emotional support and learned from others who had gone through similar experiences. https://www.rupturedbrainaneurysm.com/post/brainwave-connections-brain-aneurysm-support-groups

As I became more resilient, I started to take on bigger challenges. I attended workshops and conferences to expand my knowledge and skills. I even started volunteering at the beach for disabled veterans to help others who were going through similar struggles. https://operationsurf.org/

Through this journey, I learned to reflect on my failures and use them as motivation to keep moving forward. I also sought out growth opportunities, both personally and professionally.

And slowly but surely, I started to find joy again. I found joy in the little things, like taking a walk in nature or spending time with my loved ones. I also found joy in the new skills and knowledge I had gained.

Embracing challenges and seeking growth opportunities not only helped me recover from my brain aneurysm, but it also transformed my life. I am now stronger, more resilient, and more grateful for every moment. And I know that no matter what challenges come my way, I have the strength and mindset to overcome them and find joy in my life.
