Has Science Finally Explained déjà vu?

Updated: Nov 10, 2023

"Nights really suck when you wake and realize you weren’t in real life mode.  Sometimes I wish dreams were reality and reality was really just a dream.  Or at least just be able to fall back asleep and have the same dream over and over and over again."

We all have that one person that we can't get out of our heads. The one that we think about when we are falling asleep and the first thing on our mind when we wake up. Dreams of this person consume us and no matter how hard we try, we can't seem to forget about them. So, what does it mean when we dream of this person?

Dreams have been a source of mystery for centuries. Many cultures believe that dreams are a way for our subconscious to communicate with us. So, what does it mean when we dream of that one person that we can't get out of our heads? It could be a sign that our subconscious is trying to tell us something about that person.

Maybe we think about them more than we realize. Or, it could be a sign that we need to let go of them. Dreams are unique to each individual, so only you can interpret the meaning of your dream. But if you find yourself thinking about someone constantly, it might be worth considering what your dreams are trying to tell you.

Dreams are interesting things. They can be mundane, repeating things that we do in our everyday lives. Or, they can be bizarre, mixing together random people and places that we've never seen before. Sometimes, we dream about things that we are worried about or things that are on our minds. And sometimes, we dream about the people that we can't get out of our heads. Dreams of this person consume us and no matter how hard we try, we can't seem to forget about them.

So, what does it mean when we dream of this person? It could mean that we are thinking about them constantly and they are on our mind a lot. Or, it could be a sign that there is something unresolved between the two of us. Either way, it's important to pay attention to our dreams and what they might be telling us.

There are many different interpretations of dreaming of someone. One interpretation is that the person you are dreaming of is a representation of yourself. This means that they embody qualities or traits that you wish you had. For example, if you are dreaming of someone who is confident, this may mean that you lack confidence in yourself.

Another interpretation is that the person you are dreaming of is a representation of your ideal partner. This means that they possess all the qualities that you are looking for in a partner. If you are dreaming of someone who is kind, caring, and loving, this may mean that you are looking for these qualities in a partner.

We've all had those dreams. The ones where we meet someone and instantly feel a connection to them, like we've known them our whole lives. Well, maybe we have. According to some belief systems, our souls are reincarnated into different bodies over and over again. So it's possible that the people we're attracted to in this life are actually people we knew in a past life.  I believe this.  The funny thing is I told you this and you believed.

I had met someone and felt an instant connection.  I know that's extremely common.  But I feel like I knew him my whole life. He felt that way too.  It's a feeling we can't explain, but it happened to both of us. And according to some belief systems, there's a reason for that. Our souls are reincarnated into different bodies over and over again. So it's possible that the people we're attracted to in this life are actually people we knew in a past life.

There are many stories of people who have been drawn to certain places or things because they have a connection to them from a previous life. For example, there's the story of James Leininger, a young boy who started having nightmares about being shot down in a plane. His parents did some research and found out that there was indeed an Air Force pilot with the same name who was killed in action during World War II.

Or take the case of Pam Reynolds, who underwent brain surgery in 1991. She had an out-of-body experience during the surgery and later recounted details of the operating room that she couldn't possibly have known otherwise. There are countless other stories like these which suggest that our consciousness doesn't end with death.

I never thought I would be the kind of person to believe this.  But then, I never thought I would find myself in intensive care with a very slim chance of living, either. But that's exactly what happened. And it was during those long, dark days and nights in the ICU that I came to believe that my grandparents were standing by my side, calming me and giving me the strength to fight for my life.

Even though I can't really explain this, I was asked if I was ready to go.  I said, I felt like I was ready.  I felt joy and I was ready. I don't know if I'll ever be able to see or hear them again like I did during those long nights in the ICU. But I know I will see them again in my next life.  They are always with me.  And for that, I am forever grateful.

So if you've ever felt a strong connection to someone you just met, don't be so quick to write it off as coincidence. It could very well be that your souls have crossed paths before—and this lifetime is just another opportunity for you two to find each other again.

Unfortunately, we will have to try it again in our next life.  I hope we find each other again. Most of my brain thinks this is ridiculous but for some reason I truly believe.  I think, therefore I am. This simple statement has been attributed to the great philosopher Rene Descartes, and it forms the foundation of modern philosophy.

However, it also contains a great deal of truth about the human condition. To think is to be aware of one's own existence, and it is this self-awareness that makes us unique among all other creatures on Earth. It is what allows us to contemplate our place in the universe and to ask questions about the nature of reality. And yet, for all our power of reason, we are still capable of believing in things that are clearly ridiculous.

Whether it is due to wishful thinking or a lack of critical thinking skills, there are times when we allow our beliefs to override common sense. As a result, we can find ourselves believing in things that are patently untrue. But even when our beliefs are irrational, they still say something about who we are as individuals. They reveal our hopes and fears, our desires and biases. In short, our beliefs reflect our humanity, for better or for worse.
